When Excessive types overexercise, they risk more than just muscular injury. Too much exercise drains Blood and Qi, leaving the immune system open to viral attacks and other disease. An empty bank account is not the time to write a big check.
The spinal area is particularly susceptible to injury from overexercise. If you have a tendency to suffer from disk problems, it is generally due to a Deficiency of Blood and Qi. From a Chinese medical perspective, that means the nutritious Blood and Fluids that support and bathe your muscles, tendons, and vertebrae have decreased. Here’s an easy way to help your spinal fluids circulate, as well as send energy to muscles and joints. Stand with your feet about a foot apart. Bend the knees and bounce, without lifting your feet.
